Parish Ministry including Communications, Resources and Community Events

General donations support the ongoing life and work of the Parish and its churches, helping us respond to day-to-day needs and care for all our worshipping communities.

Your gift contributes to the maintenance and running of our churches, pastoral care, services, outreach work, and community activities across the Parish. It also allows us to support the individual churches within the Parish as needs arise, ensuring each remains open, welcoming, and active.

By giving to the Parish as a whole, you help sustain ministry, protect our church buildings, and support the people and communities we serve every day.

Thank you for your generosity and continued support.

St John’s Church, West Bay

Roof & Weatherproofing Project

The total cost is expected to exceed £18,000.

St John’s Church sits in an exposed harbourside location and faces ongoing challenges from strong south-west winds, driving rain, and salty sea air.

Following the completion of new electrical wiring and lighting in 2024, our next urgent priority is repairing the poor lead flashing on the flat roof above the vestry. There is clear evidence of water ingress, and damp has become an increasing concern.

This essential work will help weatherproof the building, protect the fabric of the church, and ensure St John’s remains a safe and welcoming place for worship and community use.

St John’s Church, West Bay

Heating Renewal Project

Following the completion of our upgraded electrical wiring and new lighting in 2024, the major task is to replace the ageing and inefficient heating system at St John’s. The redundant system struggled to keep the church warm during the colder months, making services, community gatherings, and events increasingly uncomfortable for many of our congregation and visitors.

As a coastal church, our building faces continual challenges from damp, cold winds, and fluctuating temperatures, all of which place additional strain on the fabric of the church.  Replacing the system is essential to ensure that St John’s remains a warm, welcoming, and usable space throughout the year.

The total cost of is expected to be £30,000

Clock Restoration Project

Battling the prevailing winds and weather of the Jurassic coastline our infrastructure shows significant damage caused by the power of nature.

A prominent beacon for all who visit the harbour side, whether for leisure or maritime pursuits, the clock on the western aspect of St John’s has been a reliable timepiece for the last 80+ years.  However, the exposed location has had its impact and a new mechanism is now required.

We all have watches or a phone to consult, but for those approaching from the water knowing the time is only part of the story.  Can you contribute to help us restore this landmark?

The total cost of is expected to be £10,000
