A large, imposing church seating 400 people, St Mary’s is in the heart of Bridport and is a gathering place for civic services and events as well as for regular worship. The earliest parts of this beautiful building can be traced back to the 13th century and much of the rest dates from the 15th century.
At St Mary’s we believe God has called us from many walks of life to grow together as a family and engage fully with the local and wider community. We have a lively Sunday School, a Tots Time group, an active team of bellringers, a group of churchyard gardeners and a regular informal meeting of the Mothers’ Union. St Mary’s is a registered Eco Church, and Cupboard Love, the Bridport food bank, operates from St Mary’s each Wednesday.
We have two services nearly every Sunday morning – an early Holy Communion service using the Book of Common Prayer, followed by either Holy Communion or Morning Worship at 11am. There is also Holy Communion on the first Wednesday afternoon each month.
